Each spring, thousands of tadpoles get stranded in disappearing rain pools. Warriors are notified by email, gather them safely into our nursery, then come back week after week to watch their legs appear — and finally, to watch them hop away.

Scouts find the puddles
Our biologists watch the wetlands. When a rain pool starts to shrink with tadpoles still inside, the clock starts ticking.
Warriors get the call
Parents on our alert list get an email with a date, a meet-up spot, and what to bring. Bring boots, bring buckets, bring kids.
Watch the legs appear
Come back weekly to feed the nursery tadpoles, watch back legs sprout, then front legs, then the tail shrink away.
Release day
When they're ready, every Warrior is invited to the release. Tiny frogs hop into the wetland — straight from your bucket.

For grown-ups
- Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all rescue and release events.
- Wear waterproof boots and clothes that can get muddy. We provide buckets and nets.
